Telangana State govt sets up an education commission to build transformative changes in the education sector

The Telangana State Government on September 2,2024 , Tuesday organized a Telangana Education Commission. It was to address the gradual decline in educational standards, beginning from the pre primary stage to university level. It was evident by the recent studies and surveys.

The Commission was bult with the purpose of revamping the educational sector in state. The study has shown alarming issues for instance, poor students outcome , declining research output at the higher education level and not enough skill development among graduates.

The above mentioned issues are laid emphasis in the National Achievement Survey(NAS) 2021 has alerted and grabbed the state's attention to meet the needs

The Key areas of study in the commission will be
- Universalisation of early childhood education -Ensuring quality education in schools, -Integration of employability skills with higher education
-Fostering egalitarian values among students to prepare them as responsible global citizens, according to a statement.

The commission will play the role of dedicated think tank. It will focus on essential field of improvement and reform within the educational system. The commission's main objectives include advising on policy-making, developing comprehensive education policies, and ensuring the quality of education from pre-primary to higher education, including technical education, the order said.

The commission will incorporate brainstorming, ideation, pilot studies, and exposure visits to inform policy notes, guidelines, and rules.

As per the order , the Commission will have a chairperson, three specialized members in education and a member secretary of the rank of head of the department. All the members will be appointed by the government
In addition the commission is expected to hold wide consultations with stakeholders and may engage experts.

The funding will be made by the state government. The goal is to transform state education for better. To lay emphasis on primary education ,secondary education and  higher education and build better learning environment
