A new project by India aims to provide fifty $500,000 Quad scholarships to students from the Indo-Pacific region so they can attend a technical university financed by the Government of India and undertake a four-year undergraduate engineering program.
Since the program was unveiled at the Summit last year, Quad partners have already contributed well over 1,300 fellowships. We welcome the growth of the Quad Infrastructure Fellowships to over 2,200 experts. We further express our gratitude for the workshop conducted in India by the Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure, which aims to enable partners throughout the Indo-Pacific region to enhance the resilience of the electricity sector. "Strengthening the deep and enduring ties between our people, and among our partners," is the Quad's stated commitment. We are assembling the next wave of leaders in science, technology, and policy through the Quad Fellowship.
The Quad governments are pleased to welcome the second cohort of Quad Fellows and the program's first-ever expansion to include candidates from ASEAN nations, in collaboration with the Institute of International Education, which oversees the program's implementation. The program that allows Quad Fellows to study in Japan is supported by the Japanese Government. In the statement, it was said that "The Quad welcomes the generous support of private sector partners for the next cohort of fellows, including Google, the Pratt Foundation, and Western Digital."
Through investments in disaster resilience, education, and infrastructure, the Quad project continues to promote collaboration throughout the Indo-Pacific region. The initiative is creating a strong network of future leaders by increasing the number of scholarships and fellowships, especially in the fields of science, technology, and policy. The Quad's dedication to fostering regional stability, innovation, and resilience for future generations is emphasized by the support of private sector partners and the participation of ASEAN countries.
Each Quad scholarship is valued at $500,000.
