In the efforts to create transparent and effective examination procedure, The Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) can now conduct Aadhar -based biometric verification for candidates. It has received approval from the Ministry of electronics and information Technology, Government of India. The verification will be used at various stages of recruitment. From the written exam, document verification, counselling and interviews.

The decision comes after the several cases of dummy candidates being surfaced. The purpose of verification is to curb those dummy candidates. Through the process of verification, the ROSC expects to increase the transparency and streamline its operations. The initiative is a significant achievement in ensuring a secure and efficient recruitment process.

The Commission Secretary told, the Rajasthan Public Service Commission, the state government's Personnel Department contacted the Ministry of Electronics and IT on May 8,2024. On their request, the government of India has granted permission. The approval for identity verification through Aadhaar, in accordance with Section 4 of the Aadhaar Act 2016 and the Aadhaar Authentication for Good Governance Rules 2020.

Aadhar Card creates a unique identity number for all Indians, the aim is to reduce identity fraud.
In addition, the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) provides an online biometric verification facility to confirm the identity of the Aadhar cardholders. It involves, fingerprint, iris recognition, facial. The verification process requires to submit of the 12-digit unique Aadhar number to validate other attributes and biometric data. The biometrics of Aadhar provide a reliable and effective method for confirming candidates’ identities. It reduces the time required for manual verification of documents.
Aadhaar also simplifies the paperwork process as it is one of the official government documents required for recruitment.

Apart from biometric verification, the commission has made other significant changes as well. It includes live photo capture, security threads on admit card, QR codes, one time registration and collecting thumbprints and handwriting samples.
