The Common University Entrance Test results, CUET UG 2024, are anticipated to be released by the end of July or early August, as stated by Jamia Millia Islamia's Officiating Vice-Chancellor, Shakeel Ahmed. Additionally, he said that although there would be a small delay in university admissions, the academic and semester calendars won't be impacted.
The CUET UG results were supposed to be released on June 30 according to the NTA's information bulletin, but they haven't been made public yet.
Over 1,000 impacted applicants will take a retest today as a result of complaints filed by the NTA, which include claims of time loss resulting from the delivery of wrong question papers.
To address the postponement of the CUET UG results, the vice chancellor convened a meeting on Thursday with the deans of every institution. For admission to 15 of the 50 undergraduate courses and 5 of the 86 master's programs offered by the university, CUET results are used.
After meeting with the deans, the vice-chancellor of Jamia Millia Islamia made decisions about CUET. Although Ahmed noted that there had been delays in the admissions process in previous years, the findings ought to be made public by the end of July or the first week of August.
"While there may be a minor delay, our admissions procedure won't be as drawn out as it has been in the past. Significantly, the academic or semester calendar won't be affected," Shakeel Ahmed was reported by news agency ANI as adding.
Experts evaluate the challenges and create the final key after the deadline for contesting the draft key. According to Ahmed, this process usually takes one to two weeks, but the NTA is dedicated to making the results public as soon as possible.
The CUET UG was administered via pen and paper as well as online from May 15 to May 31.
It is anticipated that the first-year semester at several universities, including JNU and Delhi University (DU), may be delayed.
The delay in releasing the CUET-UG results has also been caused by the NTA's ongoing handling of claims of paper leaks about NEET-UG and UGC-NET.
Students have also been reassured by Chief M Jagadesh Kumar of the University Grants Commission (UGC) that the NTA is working hard to make the results available as soon as feasible.
All participating universities' admissions timelines will be impacted by the results' delay.
