The prelims exam will comprise two compulsory papers of General Studies. The exam will feature multiple choice questions, with each subject carrying a minimum of 200 marks. The duration of each paper will be 2 hours. Applicants who successfully clear this examination will proceed for the main examination. The number of candidates selected for the mains examination will be approximately 12 times the number of available vacancies but not exceeding the limit.
This exam will have negative marking, for every wrong answer 0.25 marks will be deducted. The final selection process for the Odisha Civil Services is determined by the overall performance in the Prelims, Mains and Interview.
