Steps to apply for National Teachers Entrance Test 

Step 1: Visit the official website of NTET

Step 2: Locate the highlighted link on the homepage

Step 3: Open New login and fill the required details 

Step 4: Now log in with the username and password to complete the application form 

Step 5: Pay the application fee

Step 6: Review and submit the form

Step 7: Save the form for future reference 

The application fee for general category is Rs 4000 whereas for general economically weaker section and other backward classes the fee is Rs 3,500. Eligible candidates from SC, ST. PwD and third gender backgrounds can benefit from a reduced fee of Rs 3000.

To be eligible for NTET, candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree in Education (BeD) or equivalent from a recognised university. For primary level teaching, candidates require a minimum 50 percent score in Class 12 and a diploma in Elementary Education (DEIEd) or BeD. 

The exam comprises two papers, Paper 1 for primary level teachers for classes I to V and Paper 2 for upper primary level teachers for classes VI to VIII. Both papers feature multiple choice questions on key subjects, including child development, Pedagogy, language, Mathematics and Environmental studies.
