Amid the ongoing controversy surrounding the alleged NEET-UG paper leak, the National Testing Agency (NTA) on Thursday refuted claims of mishandling CUET-UG 2024 answer sheets.
"These are empty boxes kept outside the hall at NTA and do not contain any sensitive material. At no point were these boxes left open, contrary to media reports. Additionally, we have adequate security personnel stationed where the boxes are stored," the NTA stated in a post on X.
This statement followed viral videos showing boxes outside the agency office, with allegations that they contained CUET-UG 2024 answer sheets.
Recently, the agency also addressed a video claiming that the NTA website had been hacked. “The NTA website and all its web portals are fully secure. Claims of compromised information are false and misleading," the agency tweeted.
CUET-UG 2024 is conducted for students seeking admission to Central Universities (CUs) and other participating universities, including State Universities, Autonomous Institutions, Private Universities, and deemed Universities, for the academic session 2024-25.
Meanwhile, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is investigating multiple NEET UG paper leak cases and has made several arrests.
President Droupadi Murumu addressed the NEET UG examination issue in Parliament today. "The recent irregularities and paper leaks are being dealt with firmly, and the government is focused on improving the exam process," she said.
The NTA denied mishandling CUET-UG 2024 answer sheets, stating that the boxes shown in videos were empty and securely stored.
The NTA mentioned having a sufficient number of security personnel deployed at the place where the boxes are kept.
