The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences will conduct NEET PG on August 11, 2024 in two shifts at 500 trusted test centres. The test centres have been reduced in number to ensure tight security, with fewer centres surveillance will be more intense.

Most students have been allocated a centre in their respective cities to avoid long distance travelling. The exam is set to be conducted in computer-based format in two shifts, with separate paper for each shift. The exam centres have been reduced to 500 from 1200, as the exam body no longer trusts outsourced centres especially after multiple paper leaks. To ensure fairness, it is decided to normalise scores, since the exam will be conducted in shifts.

Admit cards were released on this Thursday. This year’s NEET PG exam organised by NBEMS and supported by TCS has been plagued by several controversies. Previously, the exam was scheduled for June 23, however it got postponed a few hours before as a precautionary measure’ amid concerns over irregularities in other competitive exam. This was the fourth date change, as it was scheduled for March 3, which was further postponed to July 7 and later moved to June 23 due to general elections.

“Earlier, the students were given the option to select different centres across the country to appear in the examination. Now, they have to appear at a centre either in the city or close to where their address is. It will be ensured that a person from one corner of the country does not go to another just to appear in the examination,” the official said.

The reporting time for the exam centre will be mentioned on the admit card, candidates are advised to reach early and note that the reporting counter will close 30 minutes prior to the exam start time. For further details candidate shall visit the official website of NBEMS.
