Prime Minister-elect Narendra Modi lauded students on Friday, June 7, 2024, for their dedication and hard work, as India achieved an impressive 318 percent increase in its presence in the QS World University Rankings.

In his address to the nation, PM Modi highlighted this significant milestone and reaffirmed his administration's commitment to advancing research and innovation in his third term. The QS World University Rankings for 2025, released on Wednesday, showcased this progress, with IIT Bombay and IIT Delhi securing positions among the top 150 universities globally.

Prime Minister-elect Narendra Modi shared a post from Nunzio Quacquarelli, CEO and Managing Director of QS Quacquarelli Symonds Ltd, which highlighted the notable rise in India's representation in these prestigious rankings.

"Over the last decade, we have focused on qualitative changes in the education sector. This is reflected in the QS World University Rankings. Compliments to the students, faculty, and institutions for their hard work and dedication. In this term, we want to do even more to boost research and innovation," PM Modi stated in his post on X.

Nunzio Quacquarelli noted in a post on X, “Under Narendra Modi's leadership, the last 10 years have seen continued improvement in the performance of Indian universities in QS World University Rankings."

The latest QS rankings reveal that 61 percent of Indian universities have improved their standings. Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) Bombay and Delhi have secured spots among the top 150 universities globally. IIT Bombay has notably advanced from 149th to 118th place, while IIT Delhi has climbed 47 spots to reach the 150th position worldwide.
