By July 31, 2024, medical colleges must update the list of faculty members in each department on their websites, under a directive from the National Medical Commission (NMC).
The NMC's notification states that the following should be on the updated faculty list:
- Distinct listings for every department
- Faculty members' names, current photos, credentials, most recent titles, and registration numbers
- Name alignment with the college's AEBAS (Aadhaar Enabled Biometric Attendance System)
The notification specifies, "All medical institutions must update the college website regarding the faculty in each department as follows: a. The list of faculty must be available separately under each Department (the medical superintendent, Principal, Dean, if from any of the Departments may also be indicated here); b. The list must have names of the faculty members, his/her recent photo, educational qualification, latest designation and registration number issued by the respective State Medical Council; c. The names reflected in the list must be onboard in the AEBAS system of the college."
The NMC has issued a warning, stating that any inaccurate, lacking, or delayed information submission will result in appropriate action being taken against the medical colleges or institutions in question.
The last day of each month is the deadline for updating the list, which also needs to be done every month.
The NMC noted instances in which faculty members were using fictitious fingerprints to mark biometric attendance on AEBAS in its notification. Since the NMC has taken this matter seriously, all faculty members are required to individually record their attendance in the AEBAS linked to the medical college.
The commission stated that appropriate measures would be taken in the event of any impersonation.
