Kerala's Ambitious AI Training for 13,000 Teachers: A Leap Towards Modern Education

Kerala is embarking on a transformative journey to revolutionize its educational landscape by providing comprehensive AI training to 13,000 secondary school teachers. This initiative, spearheaded by the Kerala Infrastructure and Technology for Education (KITE), is set to redefine teaching methodologies and significantly enhance learning outcomes.

Empowering Educators with AI Skills

The training program, which began in May, aims to equip teachers from Classes 8 to 12 with essential AI skills by August 2024. This extensive three-day training focuses on various AI tools and techniques, including the summarization of complex documents and the creating concise summaries from PDFs, images, and videos. These skills are designed to help teachers efficiently manage and convey large amounts of information, making learning more accessible and engaging for students​.

Integrating AI into Daily Teaching Practices

One of the core aspects of the training is to introduce teachers to AI-driven content creation. Educators will learn how to generate and edit visuals tailored to their subjects, transforming these visuals into interactive cartoons or paintings, and seamlessly integrating text. A significant portion of the training is dedicated to Prompt Engineering and Machine Learning. To address data privacy concerns, teachers will utilize G-Suite accounts set up by KITE.
