In charge of the investigation, an SP-rank IPS official has appointed an eight-person Special probe Team (SIT).
The recent leak was handled by the EOU in May, when they formed an eight-person Special Investigation Team (SIT) under the direction of an SP-ranking IPS official to look into the situation.
There are still 13 people being held while the investigation is still going on. No more arrests have taken place.
The EOU has written to the National Testing Agency (NTA) asking reference question papers for additional forensic investigation, to compare with the burned question papers that were found. The NTA hasn't responded to the EOU yet.
The EOU has also created specific phone numbers for monitoring. Initial inquiries showed that one of the defendants, Nitish Kumar, who had served time in jail for his involvement in the BPSC TRE 3.0 case, was once more implicated.
The EOU believes that the same group, from Nalanda, Bihar, commanded by Sanjeev Singh, is engaged.
The strategy consisted of corrupting the employees of these agencies in order to break the chain of custody from the printing company to the examination center.
After obtaining the questions, they took the students in safe homes to commit the answers to memory. To stop information from being leaked, the group then securely led the candidates to the testing locations.
The 13 people who were critically arrested, including a state government junior engineer currently serving and an individual previously implicated in the BPSC TRE 3.0 question paper leak, led to the decision to formally establish the SIT.
