On September 29 ,2024, Sunday the Assam Direct Recruitment Examination (ADRE) for filling the vacant group III posts for state government. It was successfully and smoothly conducted.
The conduction was under stringent security measures and a state-wide internet suspension. The suspension lasted for eight hours. The first shift from 9 am to 12 noon, and the second from 1.30 pm to 4.30 pm. The Authorities reported no untoward incident over centres. Around 18.5 lakh students had filled forms for this post.
"All are requested to bear with the inconvenience in the interest of holding a free, fair and transparent recruitment examination and thereby securing the future of the youths of the state," the release, issued by the secretary, State Level Recruitment Commission (SLRC) for Class-III Posts, said.
Special trains were organized by the Northeast Frontier Railways to facilitate candidate participation, and security forces were deployed outside exam centres to prevent disruptions.
Few Days back, On September 15 as well the internet was shut down due to smooth and transparent conduction of examination. On September 12 the Assam Government had introduced the Assam Public Examination. They are the measures for prevention of Unfair Means in Recruitment Act 2024. The effort came in response to promote transparency and fairness in public recruitment exams. The law imposes strict penalties, which includes imprisonment up to 10 years and fines up to Rs 10 crore for malpractice during recruitment tests. The offenders might also be barred from future exams and underscoring the state's commitment to merit-based recruitment.
Minister of Social Justice Pijush Hazarika announced on Wednesday, September 11,2024. He shared the update on X, a microblogging platform. In his post, Hazarika wrote, “In order to make upcoming recruitment exams transparent, the Govt of Assam, under the leadership of HCM Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, has enacted the Assam Public Examination (Measures for Prevention of Unfair Means in Recruitment) Act, 2024.”
