IIT Roorkee and CONCOR signs a MoU 

IIT Roorkee has signed an MoU with CONCOR to revolutionize logistics through research

The Indian Institute Of Technology (IIT) Roorkee has partnered with Container Corporation of India Ltd. (CONCOR) . They have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to advance research and development in logistics and supply chain management. 
CONCOR is an Indian Public sector undertaking which works on the transportation and handling of containers. 
The MoU was signed by Professor Akshay Dividí, he is the dean-sponsored research and industrial consultancy on behalf of IIT Roorkee and Ritu Narang, the Senior  General Manager on behalf of CONCOR.

The collaboration aims to enhance research, capacity-building initiatives and innovation. It will focus on fostering the efficiency of containerized freight movement across the railway networks of the nation. Especially, Western Dedicated Freight Corridor.
Under the MoU, IIT Roorkee will lay emphasis on the research part, conducting an in-depth orientation research study. The study shall work on optimizing the loading of twenty-foot equivalent Units on double-stack trains, eventually reducing container rail haulage. 
The Chairman & Managing Director of CONCOR Shri Sanjay Swarup, expressed “We are thrilled to partner with IIT Roorkee, an institution known for its academic excellence and innovative research. This collaboration aligns with CONCOR’s vision to enhance logistics efficiency through advanced research and technology. We look forward to the impactful outcomes of this partnership, which will not only benefit our operations but also contribute to the advancement of India’s logistics sector.”

The Memorandum will be effective for five years. With the possibility of renewal upon mutual agreement. Both organizations are committed to innovation and research and development for India. In addition, it will play a significant role in Viksit Bharat's 2047 Vision. 
The goal is to advance India by its century year and lead the nation as a global leader in innovation and sustainable development.
