The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras Pravartak to train engineering students. It is in the field of manufacturing and production. Parvartak will select students for the training course to provide industry-ready skills. The training campus will be at IIT Madras campus only.
The deadline to apply for the course is October 10,2024. The training programme will commence from October 14 till October 26,2024. The interested students can apply on the official website iitmpravartak.org.in/digital_mfg_practice.
IIT Madras Parvartak Technologies Foundation has collaborated with SWAYAM plus rk launch this initiative to train engineering students with mechanical, manufacturing and production backgrounds with industry related technical skills.
The course will offer experiential learning. The fee of the programme is Rs 6,000 and GST. The accommodation will be offered at IIT Madras campus, it will be at a cost of Rs 650 per day per student. The accommodation will include food and stay. Students are advised to make accommodation requests on or before October 10.
The course provides a practical approach to bridge the gap, between theoretical engineering concepts and real -world manufacturing process.
The skills of simple quantification, back-of-the-envelope calculations, quick engineering drawings, use of the right tools, classification/taxonomy fundamentals and systems approach to planning and execution will be given insights for and strengthened.
The programme will highlight about 3D modelling, 3D printing, CAM, CNC programming and CNC machining. In addition, the course shall offer knowledge on the stages of product development, prototyping and testing.
Students will gain hands-on experience with basic manufacturing, additive manufacturing (3D Printing), Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM). This is a beneficial opportunity for the students.
