IIT Madras initiates a PG Diploma in Metro Rail Management

The Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) is accepting applications from all interested and eligible candidates for a one-year Postgraduate Diploma in Metro Rail Technology and Management at the Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras).
Aspiring Candidates with BE or BTech degrees in Civil, Electrical, Electronics and Communication, Electrical and Electronics, or Mechanical Engineering, with at least 70 percent marks and a valid GATE score are eligible to apply for the same.

The selection process will be an assessment based on the GATE score and an interview. However, the final selection will be done based on a medical fitness examination. The position of Executive Trainee with a stipend of Rs 30,000 will be offered to the shortlisted candidates.
The necessary tuition fees for the PGDMRTM at IIT Madras will be sponsored by CMRL. Once hired the trainees will offered the position of Assistant Manager on a five-year contract with CMRL, earning a total salary of Rs 62,000 per month.
The duration is one year.
