The Indian Institute of Technology, Madras and the National Defence College collaborates. The partner to offer an Executive MBA in leadership. The theme is Strategic Leadership and Public Policy. National defence college is an apex-inter service training institute situated in New Delhi.
It is a user-oriented programme, the duration of the programme will last a year. It will be a 48-week programme, based on lectures and practical modules. It will also include a thesis.
It will be open for enrolment for 120 members, from Armed forced and civilian government services such as IAS, IPS, IRS and DRDO and more. The purpose is to develop and build strategic enculturation of selected senior officers.
A Memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed for the same. It was signed by Professor M Thenmozhi, Professor and Head, Department of Management Studies, Indian Institute of Technology Madras and Brigadier Rajesh Raman, Secretary, National Defence College on August 27, 2024 . It was signed at New Delhi, in the presence of Professor V Kamakoti, Director, IIT Madras, and Dipti Mohil Chawla, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Defence.
Along with, the event was honoured by the presence of Air Marshal Hardeep Bains AVSM VSM, Commandant, National Defence College, Professor HSN Murthy, Professor and Head, Department of Aerospace Engineering, IIT Madras, Lt Gen P R Shankar (Rtd.), Professor of Practice, IIT Madras and other senior NDC Officials.
While laying emphasis on this programme, Professor V Kamakoti, Director, IIT Madras, said, “The next-gen world needs managers with deep understanding of contemporary technologies. This MBA programme is conceived to address this need.”
As mentioned above , it will be attended by 120 members .The members will be Brigadier or equivalent, the Civil and Diplomatic service officers are at the level of Director/Joint Secretary to the Government of India.
The goal is to empower , and enhance the skills of the officers.
The program is 48 weeks long.
The program is open to senior officers from the Armed Forces and civilian government services, including IAS, IPS, IRS, DRDO, and more.
The program emphasizes strategic leadership and public policy.
The program will be conducted in collaboration between the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras and the National Defence College in New Delhi.
The MoU was signed on August 27, 2024.
