IIT Jodhpur begins with BSc/BS in Applied AI and Data Science to enhance learning

Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Jodhpur has begun with introduction of BSc/BS in Applied AI and Data Science. It has announced the latest information on September 9,2024. The update comes in collaboration with Futurense Uni. This programme is the necessity in increasing need for professionals in the fast-evolving fields of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Data science. Interesting fact is , this programme doesn't require a JEE qualification.

The degree is curated for both the students and working professionals. It will be in an online format. However a campus immersion component is included to provide flexibility. Meaning, each year the students enrolled will have to chance to tour the IIT Jodhpur Campus.

Similar to the NEP concept in higher education, the students can get certification in the first year, a diploma in the second year and a BSc degree in the third and a BS degree in the fourth year. This feature provides students with flexibility and credibility.

The following are the criteria to enrolll in the course. Although the programme doesn't require qualification of JEE , however it does require a separate qualification test. Submission of a completed application form, and receipt of an offer letter from the Institute, that is IIT Jodhpur.

The Prof Avinash Kumar Agarwal, director of IIT Jodhpur, “Our present age requires creative solutions to pressing problems of human rights, sustainable development and global well-being. This means thinking out of the box and moving away from traditional models of school education, which reward rote learning and kill the innate creativity of children. Therefore, our vision is to equip learners enrolled for the BSc./BS. in Applied AI and Data Science program with the necessary modern skills and competencies to participate in a rapidly transforming global knowledge ecosystem that is being shaped drastically by technologies such as artificial intelligence,” . He highlighted the need for a next-gen education model that addresses the global challenges.

The purpose of the programme is to upskill the students learning with current trends and prepare them for future.
