The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi have begun with PhD programmes while joining hands with the Australia’s University of Queensland. The initiate is taken under the UQ-IIT Delhi Research Academy (UQIDAR) at the institution.
The application process for admission to the joint PhD programme has commenced for January 2025. UDQIDAR has called expressions of interest (EOI) from candidates with a technology, science, engineering, healthcare, mathematics or social sciences background. The express of interest for UQ-IITD Joint PhD can be availed until October 3,2024. The candidates then shortlisted, will have interview round. It will be conducted from November 14,2024 to November 21,2024. The candidates selected are supposed to accept their offer letter by December 16,2024.
UQIDAR supports its students with generous fellowships, research travel grants, and relocation. The students will have access to both institutions' academic facilities and resources, mentioned the official press release.
In the programme, the students will get to learn and spend time in both the institutions. They will receive a jointly awarded Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree from both the universities upon successful completion. Students will study in India as well Australia. The Indian Students will study three years in India and one year will study in Australia, on the other hand the Australian Students will study three years in Australia and a year in India. The enrolled students can receive a scholarship to study at two world-leading, research-intensive institutions
