IIT Delhi and Honda to work together to build corporate Intelligence

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi has partnered with the Honda Cars India Limited (HCIL) . The two have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to advance Honda CI , Cooperative Intelligence. It is an artificial intelligence (AI) that enables mutual understanding between machine and people. It works through cooperative action and communication using environment, scene and intention understanding.

The MoU was signed by Prof. Preeti Ranjan Panda, dean, corporate relations and Prof. Naresh Bhatnagar, dean (R&D) , IIT Delhi and Udit Kumar ,senior vice President and director ar HICLm it was signed in the presence of Prof. Rangan Banerjee, Director IIT Delhi and Takiya Tsumura, President and CEO of HCIL

With purpose of achieving further advancement of CI,Honda and IIT Delhi have decided on joint research themes such as recognition of surrounding environment and cultivation of cooperative behaviour. It will conduct a joint research and development while it makes use of AI technologies.

For each research topic , the Honda associates and professors of IIT Delhi will collectively engage with the students for the purpose of planning, designing, developing and testing technologies. The work would be beyond the confines of the laboratory and thereby procedd with the research and development with greater flexibility and high degree of freedom as well. The efforts will let Honda and IIT Delhi to work more flexibly along deeper exchange of academic and industry insights.

Prof. Preeti Ranjan Panda, Dean, of Corporate Relations, IIT Delhi, stated that, “The mobility industry is experiencing significant change, driven by a growing demand for sustainable and functional products powered by AI technologies that are shaping its future. This partnership aims to leverage IIT Delhi’s advanced research and Honda’s expertise in practical applications to fast-track innovation and create solutions that benefit both customers and society across a wide range of applications.”
