Indian Institute of Technology Bombay season of placement has now concluded for over 2414 students. According to the data released by the IIT Bombay , total of 1979 students ‘actively participated’ in placement season of this year. However only 1475 students accepted job offers.

In this season, a total of 364 companies offered over 1650 jobs for the IIT Bombay. Among which, only 1475 jobs were accepted. In addition, 258 students accepted the pre-placement offers.  While some of the students chose to pursue their higher studies in courses such as MTech/Phd and MBA courses .In fact , some students also opted for entrepreneurship , civil services and had no minimal participation in the placement drive.

In session 2024, the institute received around 78 international offers based in Japan ,Europe,UAE ,Taiwan and Singapore ,Netherlands and Hongkong. The number has substantially increased from the past year. “Due to the war in Ukraineand the subdued global economy, we saw fewer international recruiters,” IIT Bombay said in an official release. According to the data, IIT Bombay Students placed 775 students in MNCs in India , in which 622 have been placed in Indian companies and 78 students got international offers.

In comparison to last year 117 selection consulting offers were made by 29 consulting companies. The prominent recruiters were from Trading, Banking and Fintech Companies. The finance sector has 113 offers from 33 financial service firms this year.  The profiles in various sectors like Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Product Management, Mobility, 5G, Data Science and Analytics, and Education also saw brisk hiring trends. While seventeen design companies have offered 33 jobs and have seen fewer selections.

The education sector saw over 11 companies participating with only 30 jobs offered. The Research & Development witnessed companies in fields of Automation, Energy Science, Battery Technology, Chemical and Mechanical Research, Energy Efficiency Solutions, Application Development, Materials Research, Semiconductor, Power Electronics, AI/ML and Research Laboratories, where 36 organisations offered 97 positions last year.
