IIM Calcutta secured 100% placements for the 61st Batch of its flagship MBA program at the end of its summer placements in 2024. On October 25, the institute secured 564 offers for 475 students, completing its summer internship assignments.
The median monthly stipend was 2 lakh, which IIM Calcutta says is a new institute record, while the average was 1.89 lakh. 3.67 lakh was the highest monthly stipend received domestically, while 6.75 lakh was the highest monthly stipend received internationally. A monthly stipend of 3 lakh was awarded to the students in the top 5 percentile.
The Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta, used a hybrid approach for the placement process, with 175 recruiters from various industries opening up multiple cross-functional opportunities.
Businesses from all of the main industries, including FMCG, manufacturing, finance, consulting, technology, analytics, pharmaceuticals, and education, participated at IIM Calcutta. Employers were able to identify a better student-recruiter fit through the cluster-cohort placement process, which included several policies like "dream offer." As a result, the approach was beneficial to both recruiters and students.
The results of the summer internship offers have once again shown how prepared our students are for the future in a very competitive environment. The chairperson of placement operations, Professor Ritu Mehta, stated, "We are very grateful to our recruiters for placing their trust in our students and our academic processes, as there is a continuous recalibration of managerial jobs and a pullback of job postings worldwide."
