ICAI introduces new work-life balance initiatives

Amidst the ongoing incidents of serious consequences of extreme stress and work pressure on professionals, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has shown dedication and concern towards promoting work-life balance and stress management. All the stressful incidents have led ICAI to take decisive action

To deal with concerns, ICAI has launched a specialised group which is being led by Seema Gerota , the additional Director focused on work-life balance and stress management. The purpose is implementing strategies to enhance work-life balance and reduce stress among the Chartered Accountants.

The organization has planned several health and wellness programme. It involves health awareness programme, yoga sessions, motivational conferences, walkathons and marathons. Aiming at promoting mental and physical wellbeing.

ICAI is committed to promote holistic well-being of Chartered Accountants in their personal and professional lives.

In addition, a grievance redressal cell is in operation, it is to address concerns from members, students and employees, with plans to enhance this system for more effective resolutions. Apart from the efforts, ICAI is launching further initiatives to bring healthier work environment for its members and employees.

a)Stress management initiatives – ICAI has collaborated with health institutions, it has rolled out stress management programmes, counselling services and mental health support for members and students.

b) Partnership with industry- ICAI is aiming to partner with stakeholders to promote flexible work models, it incorporates efforts such as working options, flexible hours and wellness initiatives, it is to bring out balance between professional and personal commitments.

c) Support networks – The institute will announce peer support networks, providing platform for members to share experiences, seek advice and dealing with stress management challenges.

d) Counselling helpline – ICAI plans to commence with a counselling help desk within National call centre ,9997599975 to help and advice members with stress management.

ICAI has taken considerate and effective initiatives to create peaceful and healthy workspace.
