The National Institutional Ranking Framework list was released on August 12, 2024. Delhi University's Hindu College overtakes Miranda House as the top college in India.
The higher education institutions are assessed on the following five parameters:
For the past seven years, since 2017 Miranda College has grabbed the top college position. However this time Hindu College surpassed Miranda and grabbed the position. This time Miranda College had to settle for the second position. Moving ahead, the third spot has been secured by St Stephen’s College and Rama Krishna Mission Vivekananda College, Kolkata jointly. In 2022, DU’s St Stephen’s was pushed out of the top 10 college rankings. Stephen’s had dropped to rank 8 in 2021 from rank 4 in 2020
Another Du's Atma Ram Sanatan Dharm College has bagged the fifth spot. It had bagged the spot of top 7 in the year 2022. And a year before, it was at rank 12. Other top colleges include St Xavier’s College, PSGR Krishnammal College, Loyola College, Kirorimal College, and Lady Shri Ram College for Women.

This year too, Delhi has dominated the list of Top 10 with over 6 Delhi colleges. 2 colleges are from Kolkata and one from Chennai and Coimbatore. Every year NIRF releases a list to analyze and motivate healthy competition in higher education. The assessment is done on 5 parameters. This year, the top college rank is bagged by Hindu College surpassing Miranda House.
Hindu College, Delhi University, claimed the top spot.
Miranda House held the top position for the past seven years.
Six Delhi colleges made it to the top 10.
Teaching, research, graduation outcomes, outreach, and perception are the five parameters.
