The heat wave caused chaos due to soaring temperatures all over India and temperature goes up to 50 degrees Celsius. Many students fainted and keeping in mind the health of children Bihar government declared a shutdown of all government and private schools till June 8, 2024.
Approximately 100 students and teachers have fainted during assemblies and classrooms in various schools across the state. Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar directed the chief secretary of Bihar to close all schools due to a severe heat wave that is making people unconscious.

The government planned to change the school timing earlier but due to the extremely adverse effect of heat in the state decided to shut down the schools. According to the previous schedule which was issued by the government classes 1 to 8 were ordered to resume from 6 AM to 10 AM till June 8, 2024. All schools are declared to be closed until the next notice issued by the government whereas students and parents are advised to stay in touch with the respective school for future updates.
