The University of Delhi has scheduled student union elections for the session 2024-25 for September 27,2024. The elections for this year will mark the first cycle after a three-year halt due to COVID-19 pandemic.
The Candidates who are seeking to run positions in Delhi University Students Union (DUSU) are required to submit their nominations by September 17, 2024.The final list of candidates is scheduled to be published on September 18,2024. Whereas the vote counting will be done on September 28,2024 at the Police Line in North Campus.
As per the official notice, the nomination must be submitted in a selected box which will be placed in the office of the Chief Election Officer, DUSU Elections 2024-25, the timings will be from 10:00AM to 5:00PM on any working day.
The voting procedure will be conducted in two phases. So, it will be easier to accommodate with different class schedules, the timings are from 8:30AM to 1:00PM for daytime classes and in other phase from 3:00PM to 7:00PM for evening classes.

In the previous month, the University of Delhi appointed Satyapal Singh as the Chief Election officer to organize students’ union polls for the year 2024-25. The university has appointed a three-member committee to conduct the 2024-2025 elections for DUSU. Professor Raj Kishore Sharma has been appointed as the chief returning officer whereas Rajesh Singh has been appointed as the returning officer. The returning officer is from the Department of Chemistry and returning officer is a librarian.
In the previous year, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS)-backed Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) retained the presidential post on the four-member central panel. This year the elections are scheduled on September 27,2024.
