Delhi University plans third round of Seat Allocation

Delhi University processed 5,68,20,017 distinct cutoffs and ranks this year in order to distribute the first round of admissions to the 71,600 authorized seats.

Delhi University eventually started this year's academic session using CUET UG 2024 results, albeit with a little delay in starting. On August 29, the incoming class of undergraduates for the 2024–2025 academic year started classes.

On August 29, a number of Delhi University colleges are hosting orientation days. The purpose of this is to help students get used to their new surroundings.

According to information released by the university, approximately 68,000 students have registered for the 1559 programs that the 69 colleges and departments of Delhi University offer thus far.

In the interim, the institution intends to carry out extra seating assignments to achieve maximum occupancy. A total of 65,775 admissions were confirmed in the first round, according to figures released by the university in an official statement. Of those, 20,829 chose to freeze their seats and 43,067 chose to upgrade. 24,869 new applicants were allocated in the second round, while 27,554 individuals were upgraded to receive their first choice.

Over 1,72,18,187 preferences and choices were submitted to DU by students applying to different universities in UG programs. In order to guarantee that all available seats are filled to the best of their ability, the institution admitted 90,644 applicants this year, over 19,000 more than its authorized capacity of 71,600 seats.

Even though the academic year is officially starting, the admissions process is still ongoing. A third round is planned to admit students based on performance in programs and supernumerary quotas, such as those for extracurricular activities (ECA), sports, and children/widows of armed forces personnel (CW). Soon, the third seat allocation list will be made public.
