The CUET UG, a crucial exam for students seeking admission to government universities and colleges, has experienced significant delays in releasing its results. This has compelled many students to reluctantly choose private institutions, resulting in high costs.

Aditya Chandra, a Class 12 student, aimed for top commerce colleges at Delhi University (DU). Due to the delayed CUET UG results, he had to enroll in a private university in Haryana, incurring fees in the lakhs.

"CUET UG was mismanaged from the start—from late distribution of question papers to assigning centers far from students' homes," Aditya said. "With the results delayed, I enrolled at Ashoka University. Eleven days have passed, and many of my friends are doing the same. The fees at the private university are twenty times more than at DU."

Nikunj Garg, an aspiring Chartered Accountant, shared similar frustrations. "I'm one of the thousands aiming for DU. The delay in results has left me uncertain whether to wait or commit to a private college. I've paid fees for a private institute but am still waiting for DU's cut-off list. My exam center was far from home, and even the fan didn't work. The entire process, from downloading the admit card to the answer key, was mismanaged."

Karan Tiwari, another CUET candidate, believes the situation is a scam by the National Testing Agency (NTA). "Students were already stressed about their 12th board exams, and CUET added more tension. During my English CUET, the question paper was late, and we were threatened. It feels like a scam by NTA and private institutions. Private institutes are shortening their deadlines to pressure parents and students into paying fees."

Khushi Bidlan, the daughter of a tea seller, had high hopes for DU. "The delay has affected me mentally and financially. Initially, they said results would be out by June 20, then July 12, but there's still no sign of them. This has disrupted my plans. We can't decide whether to go to private or government institutions. I couldn't even access my answer key because the server was down. Our admit cards and centers were changed arbitrarily. Everything has been chaotic from the start."
