College students can now receive free IT training from IIT Madras

The 'Hire-Train-Deploy' model on IT/Infrastructure and Helpdesk Support for students in Karur or Coimbatore will be the subject of the three-month physical training program that IIT Madras has launched. The deadline to register is June 12, 2024.

IIT Madras Pravartak Technologies Foundation has started a new program to provide students with free technical training that is suitable for the workforce. Support for help desks and IT/infrastructure will be the main topics of this training course. This is Lightstorm's (https://www.lightstorm.net/) CSR program.

Networking Essentials, Cloud Fundamentals, Ticketing Tools, Linux and Windows Basics, Storage and Backup Fundamentals, and Soft Skills are among the topics covered in the course. Students in the aforementioned tech skill areas will be chosen by IITM Pravartak for the training program, which will equip them with industry-ready skills.

The first week of July 2024 will mark the start of the training course. The application deadline is June 12, 2024. Those that are interested can sign up at https://forms.gle/7RhAKgrGRgwr17zd6.

 IITM The Technology Innovation Hub on Sensors, Networking, Actuators, and Control Systems is housed within the Section 8 company Pravartak Technologies Foundation. It is hosted by IIT Madras and supported by the Indian government's Department of Science and Technology as part of its National Mission on Interdisciplinary Cyber-Physical Systems.

 

 A brief overview of the course

- The three-month course is offered at no cost to the participants.

- The pupils will not receive any stipend.

- This training course will be conducted in a classroom.

- Content covered in the course includes Soft Skills, Linux & Windows Basics, Ticketing Tools, Cloud Fundamentals, Networking Essentials, and Storage & Backup Fundamentals.

- Admission Requirements: BCA and BSc (Computer Science, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biotechnology) graduates with at least a 60 percent cumulative GPA from 2023 and 2024 (eligible streams).

- Advantages: Equip students with the necessary skills to work on any small- or mid-sized organisation's IT support staff.

- Campaigns showcasing students' availability and mock interviews will be used to help with placement. Note that there is no assurance of placement.

- Date of tentative start: June 2024.

- Date of start: July 2024.

- Date of expiration: September 2024.
