A positive initiative towards Education, the CM Schools of Excellence empower Jharkhand's underprivileged students with world class education. These schools are providing quality education to students belonging from a financially challenging background.

Singh, a student of CM School of Excellence, Bariatu, said, "I like this school because it has several modern facilities like smart boards in class, many games to play, physics, bio and chemistry labs that are very helpful for us."

At present there are 80 schools of excellence functioning in the state. The project was established on May 2 last year. The education here is imparted to children on methods of English medium schools.

The Chief Minister of Jharkhand Hemant Soren on September 30 mentioned at an event organised at Dhanbad "The children from government schools were unable to compete with students of private schools. But our government is making government schools better than private schools now,"

The CM announced, the number of schools based on this model shall increase in Jharkhand. It would rise up to 5,000 schools from mere 80 schools. So the poor children could compete with the students of private schools.

The school of Excel fosters a motivating and vibrant atmosphere. It promotes several extracurricular activities, it ranges from sports to cultural programmes which inspires creativity and a spirit of teamwork among students.

Siddhi Vinayak, another student of CM School of Excellence, Bariatu, told "Our teachers teach us very nicely by showing us videos, we also have gaming periods and a library and several other facilities."

Deepak Kumar, Principal of the school, highlighted, "The concept of this school is for children who cannot afford private schools. This school has well-built infrastructure and facilities like labs, library and games are provided here."

The Jharkhand Government imparts vocational education to children in Schools of excellence in 11 trades it includes, agriculture,IT,ITES, apparel and make-up and home furnishing and hospitality, multi-skilling , electronics , automotive, tourism and hardware, retail and healthcare in a bid to prepare students for future opportunities an official said.
