The Central Board of Secondary Education has collaborated with the Institute of Secretariat Training Management (ISTM), under the department of personnel and training Ministry of Personnel, Public grievances and pensions, the government of India. The purpose is to offer a 2-day certificate course on the training of trainers.
The programme is carefully designed and is in-corporate with the National Education Policy (NEP). It is 50 hours of continuous professional development for all teachers and head teachers. Under the aegis of Ministry of Education, CBSE is aiming to train around 15000 Resource Persons (RPs) in various batches.
The programme is curated with major components of Direct trainers Skills (DTS) and Design of Training (DoT) and the integrated Approaches to child and Adolescent Development. The pilot programme was launched on August 23 ,2024. It was organized at the Academic Block of ISTM at Olof Marg in New Delhi by the chairman of CBSE, Rahul Singh.
The CBSE Chairman Rahul Singh stated that “Realizing this vision in a bid to make India a developed nation by 2047 as well as improve the quality of education, CBSE took up this initiative which would go a long way in achieving training standards,” He emphasized the need to empower schools to transition towards new-age learning mechanisms that closely reflect the future of work.
Moreover, the board will also try to target the training requirements of 13lakhs teachers in its affiliated schools, through this trained pool of resource persons. It is a no cost programme offering valuable insights in education sector. Once the individual completes the programme, they’ll receive a joint certificate which will be signed by CBSE and ISTM.
A memorandum of understanding (MoU) has been signed between the two organizations, CBSE and ITSM. The aim is to enhance the skills of teachers while equipping them with advancements and understanding in the field of education.
