The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Calcutta will end the registration for Common Admission Test (CAT) 2024 today on September 13, 2024. Candidates can register themselves today by 5 pm through the official CAT 2024 registration platform on iimcat.ac.in
The CAT 2024 is scheduled to be a computer-based exam that takes place over three sessions on November 24. Test sites will be located in over 170 cities for the exam.
IIM Calcutta will distribute admission cards from November 5 to November 24. It is anticipated that the CAT 2024 results will be made public around the second week of January 2025.

A bachelor's degree with at least 50 percent of the required points or a comparable CGPA is required of candidates. The minimal criteria are 45 percent for candidates who fall under the categories of Persons with Disability (PwD), Scheduled Tribe (ST), and Scheduled Caste (SC). The application fee for all SC, ST and PwD category, student will have to pay Rs 1,250 and for the remaining students the fee is Rs 2,500.
The CAT 2024 exam will comprise three sections, Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension (VARC), Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning (DILR) and Quantitative Ability (QA/Quants). The duration of the exam will be 2 hours and the paper is divided into two sections, with 40 minutes allowed for each section. Once a section is started, candidates will not be permitted to switch to another section until the allotted time has expired.
CAT is a nationwide examination for admissions to postgraduate and doctoral business programs at Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) and other participating institutes. Clearing CAT does not secure admission in IIMs, they further have to participate in other rounds of selection process.
