In a significant move to bolster cybersecurity education, C3iHub at IIT Kanpur has unveiled a new vocational programme in collaboration with Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj University (CSJMU) Kanpur and the Chhatrapati Shahu Ji Maharaj Innovation Foundation (CSJMIF). The initiative was formalized with a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed at IIT Kanpur.
This six-month programme is designed to arm students with essential skills and knowledge to thrive in the burgeoning cybersecurity sector. The curriculum encompasses a wide array of topics including system security, malware analysis, network security, cryptography, and IoT security. A distinctive feature of the course is the Cyber Range, which provides customized labs at each student’s desk, ensuring hands-on experience and industry-relevant training.
Conducted entirely online, the programme combines foundational knowledge with practical experience. C3iHub will offer a Virtual Lab for practical sessions, and a technical help desk for student support, and will handle certification and final assessments. Meanwhile, CSJMU will oversee the seamless execution of the programme, and CSJMIF will provide the necessary platform for its operation. This ambitious initiative aims to enroll up to 50,000 students.
