The Education Minister Sunil Kumar has urged the district education officers (DEOs) and other officials as well, to focus on providing quality education in government schools across the state.
He was addressing the event during a workshop on “Quality education; challenges and Solutions’ in Patna on October 28,2024. The minister highlighted on the role of effective training of teachers for providing quality education. He also laid emphasis on performance of students in subjects like mathematics and their writing skills in English and Hindi.
He further talked about comprehensive development of the government schools and education of disabled students were equally essential.
On the occasion, additional chief secretory of the department, S Siddharth stated the aim of the workshop was to understand the difficulties and challenges coming in the way of quality education and also to get suggestions from the officials to tackle them.
Total Nine crucial quality-education related subjects were discussed in the workshop. The subjects included : management and administration, enrolment and attendance of the students in schools , role and responsibilities of teachers , classroom operation , basic infrastructure facilities, educational infrastructure , PM Poshan-Shakti Yojana, effective inspection of schools and role of District Institute of Education and Training.
And for sports and education, departments will jointly host Mashaal Pratibha Khoj , an intra-school talent search competition in various sports categories.
Additionally, the government has introduced programs like Mukhyamantri Balak & Balika Cycle Yojana to encourage school attendance, especially for girls. To bridge the digital divide, efforts are underway to provide digital literacy and access to online education. These initiatives, coupled with teacher training programs and infrastructure development. Few months back, the government also introduced study kids for better understanding and holistic education. And now the education minister has emphasised on the need for quality education in government schools to provide better learning and development of children across state.
