The Directorate of Education (DoE) on Tuesday, October 22,2024 issued guidelines for the implementation of bagless days. 10 bagless days across government and private schools in Delhi. All the schools were directed to follow the guidelines for the implementation. It is applicable for the students of classes six to eight.
The guidelines have been developed by the National Council of Education Research and Training (NCERT). It incorporates the recommendations of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. As per the circular, the focus of guidelines is to make school learning experiential, joyful and stress-free experience for students.
The schools were advised to chose related activities carefully, so all the resources available at school’s disposal are utilised optimally. During the execution of the happiness curriculum or excursion visits, all of these should be included as a part of bagless days.
The guidelines have advised the schools to take students to some historical monuments, some cultural sites, craft centres or places of tourist interest and many more related places. "They can meet artists and craftsmen, to broaden their understanding of different concepts and traditions, and help them appreciate the importance of preserving heritage."
Bagless Activities in Schools

The purpose of the bagless days is to look forward to experiential learning. To make learning and exploring more fun and eventful. The students will get to exposure to outside world.
