The National Eligibility and Entrance Test, Undergraduate (NEET UG) 2024 counselling schedule was made public today by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC). Candidates can visit mcc.nic.in, the official website of the counselling, to check the entire schedule.
On August 14, the first round of counselling will begin. Applicants who passed the NEET UG 2024 exam are qualified to participate in the counselling procedure. We will verify the tentative seat matrix between August 14 and August 15. August 14-August 20 (12 pm) is when candidates will have opportunity to finish registering and pay by August 20 at 3 pm.
The candidates will have access to the choice filling and locking process from August 16 to August 20 (11:55 pm), with the option to lock their choices only being available from 4 pm to 11:55 pm on August 20. On August 21 and 22, seats will be assigned, and on August 23, the results will be made public. From August 24 to August 29, candidates who have been assigned seats must report and enrol in the institutions to which they have been assigned. On August 30 and 31, the institutions will verify the information for the joined applicants, and the information will then be made available on the MCC website.
Counselling for the second round will start on September 4. There will be three rounds of online counselling for NEET UG and one round for online stray vacancies. Admissions to 15 percent All India Quota (AIQ), 85 percent State Quota, private colleges, AFMS/ESIC institutes, JIPMER, deemed and central universities, and colleges are being facilitated through counselling.
In the midst of the cancelation demands, the Supreme Court ruled on July 23 that NEET 2024 would not be rescheduled. They also mandated that NTA disseminate the updated results, which reinstated the original response for Physics Question 19.
The general category's updated cut-off scores have been lowered from 720-164 to 720-162. The cut-off is now 161-127 for SC, ST, and OBC applicants, and 143-127 for SC, ST, and OBC-PH candidates. For applicants in the general category, the NEET cut-off percentile is 50th; for OBC, SC, and ST candidates, it is 40th. These percentiles are calculated by the NTA using the top scores from the all-India common merit list.
The results of the May 5 NEET UG exam were released on June 4, which was ten days ahead of schedule. On July 20, the National Testing Agency (NTA) released the NEET 2024 results by city and centre while obscuring the identity of the candidates. Candidates had to provide 180 answers to 200 questions covering Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. Every right response earned four marks, while every incorrect response resulted in a mark deduction. Zero was awarded for each question that remained unsolved.
