The Directorate of Secondary Education, Assam is recruiting graduate teachers (TGT) and post-graduate teachers (PGT) for 9,389 teacher posts. The registration for the same has begun from October 21 , interested candidates can apply for this through the official website at madhyamik.gov.in. A total of 8,004 roles are allocated for TGT recruitment while 1,385 roles are designated for PGT recruitment.

The application fees vary according to categories, for general category candidates it is 500 whereas for SC, ST, OBC, EWS and PwD category candidates are 350.
Paper 1 carries 150 marks , where visually impaired candidates will be given an additional 20 minutes to complete the exam. To clear the exam, general candidates need to score 60 percent whereas for reserved category candidates they need 55 percent.
To be eligible for the Assam recruitment , candidates must possess a graduate degree with 50 percent marks in the relevant subject and B.Ed degree from an NCTE recognised institution. For post-graduate teacher (PGT) roles, a postgraduate degree with B.Ed is necessary.
Candidates are required to carry a valid photo ID, including Aadhar card, Driving License, Pan card, Voter ID or passport.
