The Young India Fellowship scholarship application process for Ashoka University's Class of 2025–2026 has begun. Students who are shortlisted will get stipends for further financial aid in addition to partial or full scholarships that cover tuition, housing, and meals, ranging from 25% to 100%. October 15 marked the start of the admissions process.
About 100 fellows will be in the Class of 2026. To register and fill out the online application, candidates can go to apply ashoka.edu.in. Candidates may apply for the YIF from any age group, any nationality, and any academic, professional, geographic, and socioeconomic background as long as they have a recognized undergraduate degree in any discipline by July 2025 or earlier (they may be in their final year of study at that time).
The initial application deadline is January 5, and the admissions procedure is divided into two parts. To participate in the rolling personal interview process, candidates are urged to apply as early as possible, even within a round. According to the announcement, some of these shortlisted applicants might also receive an invitation to interview for the Chancellor's Merit Scholarship.
A tuition waiver of at least 25% is assured to all fellows who obtain an entrance offer; some also get the Chancellor's Merit Scholarship. All accepted and waitlisted applicants will be given the chance to apply for need-based financial aid, which waives the full cost and provides stipends for extra support.
For the Class 2025, Ashoka University followed suit, claiming in a news release that 80% of the Young India Fellows are either fully or partially sponsored, with 60% of the cohort receiving a full tuition waiver or more.
